SINGAPORE - New citizens have to shoulder the obligations and responsibilities of being a Singaporean even as they enjoy the benefits and privileges, Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong said on Saturday.
Speaking to 132 new Singaporeans at a national citizenship ceremony, Mr Goh said they now share a common future with other Singaporeans and urged them to be actively involved in the community, build meaningful friendships and contribute to the country.
