New Judicial Commissioner appointed to Supreme Court

SINGAPORE - Mr Chua Lee Ming was today sworn in as Judicial Commissioner of the High Court, said the Supreme Court of Singapore in a statement on Wed, Feb 4.

He was appointed by President Tony Tan Keng Yam, acting in his discretion, and in concurrence with the advice of the Prime Minister.

With Mr Chua's appointment, the Supreme Court now has a total of eight judicial commissioners, as well as 13 judges, including Chief Justice Sundaresh Menon.

Mr Chua graduated with his LLB (Hons) from the National University of Singapore and obtained his LLM from Cambridge University in the United Kingdom in 1988, The Straits Times reported.

He is a founding member of the Singapore Corporate Counsel Association, and has served on various committees of the Law Society and the Singapore Academy of Law.
