New parliamentary secretaries sworn in

SINGAPORE - Singapore's new parliamentary secretaries were sworn in during a ceremony at the Istana on Monday afternoon.

The ceremony was officiated by President Tony Tan Keng Yam.

The four parliamentary secretaries, who will help ministers discharge their functions and duties are Ms Low Yen Ling (Parliamentary Secretary for Trade and Industry and Education), Associate Professor Faishal Ibrahim (Parliamentary Secretary for Social and Family Development and Education), Mr Baey Yam Keng (Parliamentary Secretary for Culture, Community and Youth), and Mr Amrin Amin (Parliamentary Secretary for Home Affairs).

Mr Amrin, 36, is the youngest office-holder in the new government. The Republic's new Cabinet was sworn in on Oct 1.
