Noise levels too high

Noise levels too high

My neighbour is renovating his house and the noise from the work exceeds 100 decibels for five to six hours a day.

Exposure to such noise levels threatens our health and safety.

Yet, I do not see the contractors and workers wearing any ear protection.

And then there are the hapless neighbours, including old folks and babies who have to put up with weeks of ceaseless hacking and drilling.

The authorities should look into this matter and put a stop to it. They should ensure that guidelines on noise levels are strictly adhered to at all work sites.
