NSman suffers cardiac arrest after 2.4km run

A Cpl (NS) Gan Theng Kiong, 34, suffered a cardiac arrest after completing his Individual Physical Proficiency Test (IPPT) 2.4km run at Selarang Camp, on Nov 18 at 9.15am.
A Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) medic immediately attended to him on-site before he was sent to Selarang Camp Medical Centre at 9.20am, where CPR was performed on him.
He was later brought to Changi General Hospital (CGH) by an SAF ambulance, and resuscitation continued on the way to the hospital.
He arrived at CGH at 9.50am, and subsequently underwent an emergency procedure. He is currently warded in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and is closely monitored by CGH specialists.
The NSman has no known prior medical history or existing condition.
