Oil spill on Lornie Road causes major jam

Update at 4.45pm: The washing and resurfacing works at two stretches of roads along Lornie Road have been completed, according to LTA.

The left-most lanes at the two stretches were earlier closed due to an oil spill caused by a broken down crane.

Besides resurfacing the road, LTA had deployed a water-blasting machine to assist in clearing the oil spill after NEA has completed their cleaning works.

The first affected stretch between Andrew Road and Wallace Way was reopened at 12.30pm while the second stretch along the up-ramp from Braddell Road to the viaduct was reopened at 4.30pm.


SINGAPORE - An oil spill on Lornie Road on Tuesday morning (Feb 16) has caused a traffic jam in the direction towards Adam Road and Queensway.

According to the Land Transport Authority, the left-most lane of road has been closed.

The spill was caused by a broken-down vehicle, LTA said in a Tweet at 7.45am.
