Over 1,000 new SAF specialists ready for leadership challenges

SINGAPORE - Over 1,000 Specialist Cadets (SCTs) from the Singapore Army, the Republic of Singapore Navy, and the Republic of Singapore Air Force graduated as specialists of the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Tuesday evening.

Minister of State for Education and Communications and Information, Ms Sim Ann, reviewed the 21st Specialist Cadet Graduation Parade (SCGP) at Pasir Laba Camp.

During her speech, Ms Sim spoke about the critical role the 1,065 specialists would play in the 3rd Generation SAF to the graduands, their families and friends.

She highlighted their responsibilities in today's ever-evolving security landscape and the need to strengthen National Service.

Ms Sim also reminded the specialists to lead with conviction and to engage their men. She said: "How you do so will determine whether they can maximise their strengths, unlock their potential and motivate them to give their best during National Service."

The graduation parade marked the completion of the 22-week Specialist Cadet Course, where the SCTs trained under realistic conditions to develop leadership and combat skills.

The training also helped to deepen their understanding of the other vocations in the SAF.
