Over 600 women enjoy relaxing time by the sea at sixth edition of Shape Yoga

SINGAPORE - More than 600 women took part in Shape Yoga by the Sea 2014, held at Casuarina Grove, East Coast Park today (Oct 12).

Shape Yoga by the Sea 2014 is part of a series of all-women outdoor mass yoga events organised by Shape Singapore, a magazine licensed under American Media Inc. and published by SPH Magazines Pte Ltd.

The 90-minute yoga session, which is Singapore's first women-only mass yoga workout and is now in its sixth edition, was led by instructors from Bikram Yoga Harbourfront.

After the invigorating workout, participants were also treated to pampering eye massages by beauty brand Aveda - a first for the event. Refreshments, such as breakfast protein shakes by Japanese wellness brand Orbis, were given out.

The women also enjoyed other fringe activities such as photo booths, lucky draws and contests. Everyone walked away with goodie bags worth over $240.

Li Yuling, Editor, Shape, SPH Magazines, said: "Shape celebrates its 10th anniversary this year and we are thankful to have a loyal following of fans who love reading our magazine and taking part in our events."

"As Singapore's leading women's fitness lifestyle guide, we hope to inspire our readers to be more active, whether they choose to run, dance or do yoga." she said, adding that mass workouts such as Shape Yoga were a perfect opportunity for women to come together, exercise and have fun.

Diana Lee, General Manager, Fashion & Beauty, SPH Magazines, said: "Shape believes in creating fitness platforms that are novel, unique and yet still accessible to women of different fitness levels."

Ms Lee also said that Shape has struck a good balance and maintained a high quality of events, and thanked participants and partners for their continuous support.

Shape Yoga by the Sea 2014 was presented by Reebok, and co-presented by Orbis Asia Pacific Headquarters, with Bikram Yoga Harbourfront and UUCare as official partners.
