PM Lee visiting KL to witness signing of KL-Singapore high-speed rail MOU

SINGAPORE - Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will be making a working visit to Putrajaya, Malaysia, on Tuesday (July 19), and will witness the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High Speed Rail with his Malaysian counterpart, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

In a statement today, the Government said that the MOU will be signed by Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Minister for Transport Khaw Boon Wan and Malaysian Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan.

When completed, the high-speed rail link is expected to cut travelling time between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur to about 90 minutes.

Apart from Mr Khaw, Mr Lee will be accompanied by Mrs Lee, Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan and officials from various ministries.
