Police arrest woman, 27, for providing loansharks with false address

SINGAPORE - Police have arrested a 27-year-old woman for obtaining illegal loans by providing the address of a place she no longer resides in.

The woman was arrested in Jalan Besar on Wednesday.

She is believed to be a debtor who had used her previous residential address to obtain illegal loans from loansharks, causing current occupants of her previous home to be harassed by loansharks.

If convicted for providing false contact information to obtain loans from loansharks, she could face up to 12 months in jail.
