Police nab AMK robber who assaulted woman

SINGAPORE - A 33-year-old male suspect has been arrested by police for assaulting and robbing a 35-year-old woman.

The victim was walking along a sheltered walkway around Ang Mo Kio Street 52 on Oct 28 when the incident happened.

The robber fled immediately after grabbing the victim's handbag, which contained cash, valuables and her mobile phone with a total value of about $1,500.

The suspect was eventually tracked down and arrested in Sentosa on Oct 30 at about 11.25am by officers from the Ang Mo Kio police division.

The suspect will be charged in court on Nov 1.
