Police record statement from father of dead baby

KUANTAN - Police have recorded the statement from the father of a seven-month old baby boy who was killed after slipping from his father's arms on Tuesday evening. District deputy police chief Superintendent Abdul Aziz Ahmad said besides the father, several other individuals who witnessed the tragic incident at the Bukit Pelindung police quarters here have provided their statements.

"Investigations revealed that the victim's father who was going downstairs to throw rubbish was also holding a garbage bag in one hand while he held the baby with the other hand," he said, adding checks revealed that the stairs at the building are too steep.

In the 6.30pm incident, Mohd Danial Mikhail Mohd Abdul Hadi, slipped and fell from the third floor of the building.

The family rushed him to the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital here but he was pronounced death upon arrival.
