Police report made against teen over video on Mr Lee Kuan Yew's death

SINGAPORE - A police report has been made against child actor Amos Yee, 16, over his YouTube video titled "Lee Kuan Yew Is Finally Dead!".

The Straits Times reported that lawyer Chia Boon Teck, 52, lodged a police report online this afternoon, which included signatures from 11 others.

Yee's 8min 38sec clip has garnered over 220,000 views since it was uploaded on Friday. In the video, he criticises the late Mr Lee's political career, and even challenges Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to sue him.

Yee had a minor role in Jack Neo's 2012 film We Not Naughty.

Neo was quoted by The Straits Times as saying: "He is not my actor. He had participated in a short film contest by The New Paper and later played a minor role in my film We Not Naughty. When I first met him, he was only 13. He was flamed online then for a video dissing Chinese New Year. We no longer have contact with each other."

"It's unbelievable that he has not learned from the past and has not changed."

In 2012, Yee posted a YouTube video in which he called Chinese New Year a rip-off of the Western New Year's Day, enraging some netizens.

He later told My Paper that he was just making an "intelligent joke", and that the satirical video was not meant to insult anyone.
