Earlier on Monday, Nov 4, the Carpe Diem website still showed an illustration of US President Barack Obama with a noose around his neck.

This is the latest in the spate of cyber attacks on Singaporean websites in the wake of an announcement by a hacker who claims to be part of 'Anonymous.'

The person threatened to "go to war" with Singapore by attacking its financial infrastructure to protest recent licensing rules for news websites.

"We demand you reconsider the regulations of your framework or we will be forced to go to war with you," a male voice said as a person hiding behind a mask appeared in a clip posted on video-sharing site YouTube.

Several government sites experienced downtimes on Sat, Nov 2, but Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) later clarified that the sites were unavailable due to scheduled maintenance.

The PAP Community Foundation website was also hacked by the group of hackers calling themselves 'The Messiah' on Oct 17.

The Messiah had also previously targeted the personal website of singer Sun Ho, wife of City Harvest Church founder Kong Hee.
