Too Faced Primed & Poreless Skin Smoothing Face Primer

$45

SINGAPORE - It says on the fabulously pink box: "Wear... alone to achieve the look of flawless skin without make-up."

So naturally, I was a bit sceptical.

I have acne scarring and many dark spots and it's hard for me to get that flawless look without any make-up.

But this primer has a silky, lightweight texture that made my skin look more even-toned.

And when I applied make-up over it, it looked very natural.

I also experimented with both powder and cream blushers on top of it and it did not cake at all.

It would probably be absolutely fabulous on someone with better skin.

A win in my books, at any rate.

Clio Virgin Kiss Lip Primer

$14.90

This is effectively a lip balm with a little extra something.

It is made with argan oil, sweet almond oil and manuka honey.

It is said to soothe dry lips and chapped lips - a problem for me.

It made my lips softer and more supple, but did not help my chapped lips.

For better results, I suggest using a toothbrush to remove all the dead skin from your lips before using this. Available at selected Watsons stores

Tarte Multipleye Lash Enhancing Primer

$35

This primer has a heavy formula. So do not curl your lashes before wearing the primer.

It succeeds in lengthening the lashes, but it does not really help make your lashes look thicker and fuller.

This might not work for you if you are looking for a volumising product.

But I liked that this primer was not clumpy and that it made the application of mascara easier.

Lashes looked more natural and softer, which made it easier to separate the lashes with an eyebrow comb.
