PSI reading reaches unhealthy range on Saturday afternoon

SINGAPORE - Singapore's air quality worsened on Saturday, with the 3-hour PSI reading hitting 106 at 2pm.

Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) readings above 100 are considered unhealthy.

Prolonged outdoor physical activities should be reduced in these conditions, the National Environment Agency (NEA) says on its website.

Readings above 200 are considered very unhealthy and readings above 300 are hazardous to health.

NEA also said that thundery showers were expected in various parts of the island on Saturday afternoon.
