Public advised to keep clear as military exercises take place

SINGAPORE - The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) and The Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) will be conducting military and live firing exercises from the end of this month till Oct 6.

SAF will conduct their military exercises in the following locations: Seletar, Marsiling, Jalan Bahar, Neo Tiew, Lim Chu Kang, Jalan Kwok Min, Tuas, Upper Jurong, Hong Kah, Ama Keng, Bedok Jetty, Kranji, Lentor, Simpang, Sembawang and Mandai.

These will take place from 8am on Sept 29 to 8am on Oct 6. During these exercises, blanks and thunderflashes will be used.

RSAF will also conduct their military exercise from Sept 29 to Oct 3. There will be increased flying activities during this period and loud noises will be experienced as the aircraft transits to its training areas.

Both the SAF and RSAF will also be conducting live firing exercises.

SAF will conduct their exercises in Pasir Laba (SAFTI) Live Firing area from 8am on Sept 29 to 8am on Oct 6.

Sea vessels and crafts sailing through the Western Johor Straits during this period of time are to keep within the 75 metre Navigable Sea Lane and not stray into the Live Firing Boundary as live ammunition and flares will be used.

RSAF will conduct their exercises around Pulau Sudong, Pulau Pawai and Pulau Senang daily from 7am to 11pm on Sept 29 to Oct 3 and from 8am on Oct 4 to 6pm on Oct 5.

Flares will be released during the night firing session.

The public is advised not to be alarmed and to keep clear of all the aforementioned areas during the stipulated time periods.
