Qian Hu boss banned and fined for drink driving

The managing director of ornamental fish exporter Qian Hu Corporation, Kenny Yap Kim Lee, was fined $3,200 and banned from driving for 25 months yesterday for drink driving.

The 50-year-old pleaded guilty to driving his car along Crawford Steet at about 11.50pm on New Year's Day, when he had at least 78 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, reported The Straits Times Online. The legal limit is 35 mcg in 100ml of breath.

A traffic court heard that he was driving along Crawford Street that night when he was stopped for checks at a police road block.

A police officer approached him and noticed that he smelt of alcohol, had bloodshot eyes and a flushed face. He failed the breathalyser test and was arrested.
