PM Lee Hsien Loong shared how one of the RC's roles is to connect residents with one another, and gave examples of how RCs helped to tackle community issues such as littering and distributing masks during the haze.

A new programme and additional resources, such as iPads to capture resident feedback, will be given to help RCs do a better job. Aimed to develop RC chairmen and managers, the National Community Leadership Institute (NACLI) will offer modules in subjects such as leadership, organising house visits and communications.
