SAF to conduct military exercises

SINGAPORE - From 8am on Jul 29 to 8am on Aug 5, 2013, the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) will be conducting a number of army exercises.

Military exercises will be conducted in the following places: Seletar, Marsiling, Jalan Bahar, Neo Tiew, Lim Chu Kang, Jalan Kwok Min, Tuas, Upper Jurong, Hong Kah, Ama Keng, Bedok Jetty, Kranji, Lentor, Simpang, Sembawang, Mandai.

Live Firing Exercises will be conducted in Pasir Laba (SAFTI) Live Firing Area during that period as well.

From  Jul 29 to Aug 2 from 7am to 11pm, and 3 Aug 3 from 8am to 1pm, the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) will be conducting live firing exercises around Pulau Sudong, Pulau Pawai and Pulau Senang.

The SAF would like to advise the public not to be alarmed, and to keep clear of the mentioned areas, as blanks, live ammunition, flares and thunderflashes will be used throughout this period.

This includes islands of Pulau Sudong, Pulau Senang and Pulau Pawai, as they are proclaimed manoeuvring and firing grounds. The prohibited waters off Changi Naval Base and Tuas Naval Base are also off-limits.

Lastly, sea vessels and crafts sailing through the Western Johor Straits during that period are to keep within the 75m Navigable Sea Lane and not to stray into the Live Firing Boundary.
