SAF, RSAF to conduct military and live firing exercises

SINGAPORE - The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) and Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) are conducting military and live firing exercises this month.

Military exercises

SAF's military exercises will be conducted in Seletar, Marsiling, Jalan Bahar, Neo Tiew, Lim Chu Kang, Jalan Kwok Min, Tuas, Upper Jurong, Hong Kah, Ama Keng, Bedok Jetty, Kranji, Lentor, Simpang, Sembawang, Mandai from 8am on Mon, Nov 18 to 8am on Mon, Nov 25.

Blanks and thunderflashes will be used.

Meanwhile, the RSAF's military exercise began on Nov 7 and will end on Thu, Nov 21.

There will be increased flying activities during this period and loud noises will be experienced as the aircraft transits to its training areas.

Live firing exercises

SAF will conduct Live Firing Exercises in Pasir Laba (SAFTI) Live Firing Area from 8am on Mon, Nov 18 to 8am on Mon, Nov 25.

Sea vessels and crafts sailing through the Western Johor Straits during the same period are to keep within the 75m Navigable Sea Lane and not to stray into the Live Firing Boundary.

Live ammunition and flares will be used.

The public is advised to keep clear of the islands of Pulau Sudong, Pulau Senang and Pulau Pawai, which have been proclaimed manoeuvring and firing grounds.

Likewise, the public is also advised to stay clear of the prohibited waters off Changi Naval Base and Tuas Naval Base.

The RSAF will be conducting Live Firing exercises around Pulau Sudong, Pulau Pawai and Pulau Senang from Mon, Nov 18 until Fri, Nov 22 daily from 7am to 11pm and on Sat, Nov 23 from 8am to 1pm.

Flares will be released during the night firing.

The public is advised not to be alarmed and to keep clear of the areas where the exercises will be held.
