Shanmugam to make official visit to India to explore business opportunities

SINGAPORE - Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Law K Shanmugam will make an official visit to the Republic of India from Nov 17 to 20, 2015 to explore business opportunities between Singapore and India.

Mr Shanmugam will lead a business delegation to the Resurgent Rajasthan Partnership Summit in Jaipur on Nov 19, where Singapore is participating as a 'Partner Country'.

While in Jaipur, Mr Shanmugam will meet Chief Minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje and review areas of collaboration in skills development, tourism and urban planning.

The business delegation will also hold meetings with Rajasthan officials and business chambers to discuss opportunities for Singapore companies in Jaipur.

In New Delhi, Mr Shanmugam is expected to meet the Union Minister of Home Affairs of India Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Director of Intelligence Bureau Dineshwar Sharma.

The visit will reaffirm the warm relations between Singapore and India, and strengthen bilateral ties between the Home Ministries and security agencies of both countries.

Mr Shanmugam will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Enterprise Singapore.
