SilkAir shows off the first of its B737s

SINGAPORE - Silkair, the regional wing of Singapore Airlines, had its brand-new Boeing 737-800 aircraft on display last Friday at the Singapore Airshow. This plane is the first of 54 Boeing 737s - made up of 23 737-800s and 31 of the newer 737-Maxs - marking the start of SilkAir's transition to an all-Boeing fleet.

The 162-seat aircraft, which will be deployed on its Singapore-Kuala Lumpur route starting Feb 20, has been dressed in a special 25th anniversary livery to commemorate the occasion taking place this month.

The carrier will take delivery of eight Boeing planes this year, with the rest of the aircraft to be delivered by 2020.
