Singapore Grand Prix Formula 1 track invader charged in court

SINGAPORE - The 27-year-old man who entered the Singapore Grand Prix Formula 1 track was charged in court on Tuesday (Sept 22).
British national Yogvitam Pravin Dhokia was arrested by police and charged with committing a rash act, reported Channel NewsAsia.
According to the charge sheet, Dhokia's rash act "endangered personal safety of the drivers".
Channel NewsAsia added that based on CCTV footage released after the race on Sunday, the man had entered the track via a gap in the fence.
He crossed the track and walked against the flow of traffic before climbing back over the barrier.
According to My Paper on Tuesday, organisers, drivers and team officials registered their concerns at the track invader's antics.
A statement from the International Automobile Federation (FIA), F1's governing body, said: "We are awaiting a full report from the clerk of the course in order to determine the circumstances surrounding this incident."
