Singapore to host first EVA Air Hello Kitty flight in SE Asia

SINGAPORE - Fans of Hello Kitty will be able to fly between Singapore and Taipei on EVA Air's themed jets featuring the iconic character three times a week from Jun 21.

Backed by popular demand, the Taiwanese airline will be providing flights between the two cities on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sunday. A fourth weekly flight on Tuesdays will be implemented from Jul 2015, said EVA Air.

Austin Cheng, president of EVA Air, said the airline knew Singapore had to be their first destination in South-east Asia. As a popular tourism hub, EVA Air is proud to extend their flight expansion into Singapore.

The Hello Kitty themed planes were created exclusively for their Boeing B777-300ER aircraft. Features on the plane include the latest Panasonic eX3 inflight entertainment system, Sky Wi-Fi access and the Global Communication Suite, which lets passengers send and receive SMS on their phones.

The plane comes with its own unique variant of the Hello Kitty jets such as the EVA Hello Kitty Magic, Apple, Global, Happy Music, Speed Puff, and Hand-in-Hand Jets.

Singapore will receive the seventh Hello Kitty Jet variant next year.

Houston will also be launching the Hello Kitty jets this year. From Jun 19, Singapore passengers can fly over to the American city via Taipei on the colourful themed jets.
