Singapore sends C130 aircraft to search for missing MAS aircraft

Singapore has sent a C130 Hercules aircraft to help in the search for the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, the Republic of Singapore Air Force said in a Facebook post on Saturday afternoon.

Statement from RSAF's Facebook:

A Beijing-bound Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew lost contact with Subang Air Traffic Control after departing Kuala Lumpur this morning.

The aircraft was scheduled to land at Beijing International Airport.

An RSAF C130 was launched earlier today for a search and locate mission for the missing aircraft.

Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore conduct search operations for missing plane

BEIJING (Reuters) - Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore are conducting joint search and rescue operations for a missing Malaysia Airlines plane in waters south of Vietnam's Tho Chu island, China's Xinhua news agency said on Saturday.

The report said that the information was relayed to China's civil aviation regulator by its Vietnamese counterpart.

The aircraft went missing while on a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing on Saturday.
