SingTel to allow users to pay for Google's Play store apps via monthly bill

SINGAPORE - SingTel has just announced that its customers can now charge their Google Play purchases directly to their monthly mobile bill or prepaid account, emerging as the first carrier in Southeast Asia to do so.

Available to all SingTel mobile postpaid and prepaid customers from 15 August, the convenient payment option will also be progressively rolled out to Optus and SingTel's regional associates.

With this payment option kicking in, customers need not require a credit card to pay for apps and content on Google Play, enjoying the one-stop convenience of having all of their app purchases consolidated into a single easy-to-manage bill.

Signing up for operator billing is easy and can be completed within minutes. After selecting the apps to purchase, a simple one-time registration and validation is all that is necessary to enable customers to start making secure purchases.
