Slightly hazy conditions expected for Saturday

SINGAPORE - While the air quality in Singapore has improved on Friday, there could be a slight haze on Saturday, the National Environment Agency (NEA) said on Friday evening.

For Saturday, there could be thundery showers in the late morning and early afternoon. Occasional slightly hazy conditions can also be expected during the day but the 24-hr PSI is expected to be in the moderate range.

Thundery showers affected parts of Singapore on Friday morning. As at 6pm on Aug 21, the 24-hr PSI was 68-74, which is in the moderate range.

NEA advises the public to reduce outdoor activities and physical exertion which can help limit the ill effects from haze exposure. Those who feel unwell, especially the elderly and children, and those with chronic heart or lung conditions, should seek medical attention.
