Snow much fun

Snow much fun

SINGAPORE - Okay, so it's not quite the real stuff, but surely every child who has frolicked in the "snow" since 1996 has fond memories of this winter wonderland.

Many parents have even made it an annual affair for their kids to enjoy the foam party.

It may last only half an hour each time but the kids lap it up as soon as machines start pumping thick white foam into the air.

Many visitors now go prepared with bathing suits or a change of clothes for their children.

There is also a washing area for revellers to clean themselves after their frolicking.

Tanglin Mall's Christmas decorations won a prize in the best dressed building contest as part of the Orchard Road Christmas light-up.

Mr Daniel Tan, an advertising and promotion executive in Tanglin Mall, said its staff put a lot of work into dressing up the building.

"Substantial time was devoted into planning and putting up the decorations, including the two-storey tall Christmas tree," he said.

Half of budget

While he would not disclose the actual amount, Mr Tan said the mall's Christmas decoration budget makes up more than half of its annual budget.

Its 30-minute "snow" shows will run till Jan 1, starting at 7.30pm on weekdays and running at 7.30pm and 8.30pm to 9pm on weekends and public holidays.
