Speak Mandarin Campaign celebrates 35th anniversary with new book

SINGAPORE - A commemorative book has been launched to mark the 35th anniversary of the Speak Mandarin Campaign, the National Heritage Board announced in a statement today.

The book, available for loan at all public libraries, features excerpts of interviews with Singaporeans sharing their experiences with the campaign as well as its history.

This year's campaign was launched today with the tagline, "Mandarin. It Gets Better with Use. Immerse yourself today".

Organisers are teaming up with various partners to come up with programmes and activities that cover a spectrum of lifestyle genres including food, music and games.

The lineup includes Heritage Food Trails with the Singapore Centre for Chinese Language Learning and The National Story Challenge Tournament by The Theatre Practice.

A calendar of events can be found on the campaign's website.
