SPHL and CMPU sign 2 collective agreements

Singapore Press Holdings Ltd and Creative Media & Publishing Union (CMPU) signed two collective agreements this morning at Furama Riverfront Hotel.

CMPU was previously known as Singapore Press Holdings Employees' Union (SPHEU) and Singapore National Union of Journalists (SNUJ). The two unions merged to form CMPU in January 2015.

The agreements, which covered for the period Jan 2013 to Dec 2015, were the result of several months of negotiations between the company and the unions.

The new agreements accomplished a number of changes, namely the salary ranges, the move to a performance-linked bonus scheme, the inclusion of parental care leave and providing an encashment option for the company's overseas travel award.
