S'pore economy grows 3.8 per cent year on year in second quarter

SINGAPORE - The Singapore economy grew by 3.8 per cent on a year-on-year basis in the second quarter of the year, compared with 0.2 per cent in the previous quarter.

On a quarter-on-quarter seasonally- adjusted annualised basis, the economy grew by 15.5 per cent, significantly higher than the 1.7 per cent expansion in the previous quarter, the Ministry of Trade and Industry said on Tuesday.
