S'pore Minister visits Brunei Development Minister
SINGAPORE - The Singapore Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Home Affairs Masagos Zulkifli Masagos Mohamad yesterday reached his last two-day visit pitstop at the Brunei's Minister of Development's residence.
Accompanied by the Senior Parliamentary Secretary for National Development and Defence Maliki Osman as well as their spouses, Senior Minister Masagos Zulkifli was greeted by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Hj Suyoi Hj Osman and spouse and children upon their arrival at the Minister's residence.
The SMS Masagos's visit was a reflection of the warm friendship and strong ties between Singapore and Brunei.
Also present at YB Pehin Dato Hj Suyoi's house was Permanent Secretary (Management and Finance) Hj Muhammad Lutfi Abdullah, Deputy Permanent Secretary Eddie Dato Paduka Hj Sunny, as well as other senior officers of the ministry.
Before coming to the Minister's house, the Singapore entourage consisting of the Senior Minister and Senior Parliament Secretary, High Commissioner His Excellency Jaya Ratnam and few officials welcomed Bruneian leaders, officials and businessmen to an Open House, organised by the Singapore High Commission in conjunction with Singapore's National Day at The Empire Hotel and County Club.
The Senior Minister also meet with the Singaporean community in Brunei at a separate National Day get-together yesterday.
In a previous interview, the Senior Minister Masagos Zukifli shared that in two weeks time, Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister will be leading a group of younger leaders from Singapore, to come and interact with leaders of Brunei to underscore the important relationship shared between the two countries.
The Senior Minister previously visited the residences of few ministers including the Minister of Home Affairs Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Hj Awg Badaruddin Pengarah Dato Paduka Hj Awang Othman and Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Laila Diraja Dato Seri Setia Hj Hazair Hj Abdullah.
