S'pore Police Force's video of National Day song praised by PM Lee

SINGAPORE - A video of this year's National Day song by the Singapore Police Force (SPF) Band has gone viral - and even attracted the attention of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong himself.

Their rendition of One Singapore, composed by Dick Lee and originally performed by Lee and JJ Lin, has attracted more than 258,000 views and almost 7,000 likes since it was posted on the SPF's Facebook page on Aug 9.

The 2 1/2-minute clip shows scenes from years past of police officers helping Singaporeans, interspersed with shots of a young police officer singing the song, while others play instruments in the background.

PM Lee shared the video on his own Facebook page on Friday (Aug 14), calling it a "beautiful rendition" and thanking the SPF for "keeping us safe all these years".

"Hope you enjoy the video too!" he added.

Some netizens, however, focused not on the song, but on the looks of the officer singing it.

"Now we have a very good handsome singing police officer wow," commented Suzana Teo.

Lily Pang wrote: "Wow, we have got a good-looking singing cop in the SPF with a beautiful voice belting out Our Singapore."
