Start Singapore: Last-minute hotel bookings

So you have decided on a last-minute holiday, but where can you turn to to find a good and affordable hotel?

The HotelQuickly app provides same-day, last-minute rooms at heavily discounted prices.

Co-founder Tomas Laboutka said: "Hotels work with us because their rooms are 'perishables'. If they are not sold, then there is no revenue."

The Bangkok-headquartered firm's rates are about 30 per cent cheaper than what the hotels themselves offer, he added.

Users can use the app to book hotel rooms in 12 countries in the region, including Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand.

The mobile app is available on Apple, Android and Blackberry devices.
