Sticker an insensitive hoax

SINGAPORE - NTUC FairPrice said an image circulating on the Internet of its air-flown pork bearing a halal sticker is an insensitive hoax.
The image first started circulating on the Internet in 2007.
FairPrice chief executive officer Seah Kian Peng said it is mindful of the serious religious implications and regards this as a wilful act of mischief, and had made a police report then.
The original packaging of the fresh pork does not carry the halal sticker.
He urged the public not to circulate the image to avoid any unnecessary confusion or offence.
