Stomp's iPad app wins Gold at Asian Digital Media Awards 2015

Citizen Journalism website Stomp's interactive iPad app clinched the Gold award in the Best New Product category at the 6th Asian Digital Media Awards (ADMA) on Wednesday (Nov 18).

The iPad app, which boasts captivating visuals and a sleek interface, makes it easier for citizen journalists to report what's happening on the streets.

The Straits Times clinched the bronze award in the same category. The flagship newspaper of Singapore Press Holdings clinched 11 awards and won gold awards for Best News Website, Best Data Visualisation Project, Best Lifestyle Mobile Service, and for Best Use of Online Video for its weekly series It Changed My Life.

The Asian Digital Media Awards gives recognition to individuals and organisations in Asia which embrace new technology, innovative thinking and creativity in digital media.

This year's event attracted 133 entries from 14 countries and 36 publishers. Organised by the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (Wan-Ifra), the event was held in conjunction with the Digital Media Asia Conference.

Previously, Stomp came in third in the Best Idea to Encourage Print Readership or Engagement category at the 84th Annual International News Media Association (INMA) World Congress in San Francisco in 2014.

Stomp also won the Gold award in the Best in Original Content category, and was also awarded the Bronze award in the category for Best Use for Social Platform at Mob-Ex Awards 2014 last year.

At the WAN-IFRA Asian Digital Media Awards 2013 in Malaysia, Stomp bagged the Gold award for Best in Online Media in the category of Newspaper Website.

The website also won Best in Social Media award at ADMA in 2011. Stomp has also garnered accolades from the Singapore Infocomm Technology Federation (SITF) in 2011, and the WAN-IFRA ADMA in 2010.
