Teaching kids to steal

Stealing is a criminal enough, but teaching children to do it is the pinnacle of bad parenting.

A closed circuit television (CCTV) recording shared on Malaysian Crime Awareness Campaign's Facebook page by Evin Yeap, shows two women with children entering a pharmacy in Bandar Puchong Jaya as customers.

While one presumably distracted the staff, another was caught red-handed on video shoplifting a number of items.

In the video, the woman was seen checking behind her several times to make sure nobody was looking.

She then nonchalantly took the product out and handed it over to the child, who held it while the woman placed the empty box back on the shelf.

The young girl then handed it back to the 'mother', who slipped it inside her bag.

Many were appalled by the video - not only by the blatant stealing, but that the adult used a child to steal.

Facebook user Jack Jack commented,"Stealing is wrong. Teaching the girl how to steal is super wrong. I bet this little girl thinks it is OK to steal,"

Caroline Anita Lee said, "Goodness, bringing up their child to be a thief... woe betide them,"

Facebook user Ghee Soon Chng said the video should be circulated so the culprits can be brought to justice.
