Teenage trio charged with attacking cabby and robbing him of $5

According to the charge sheets read out to them in Malay in the district court, Muhammad Fauzi Fitri Kamaruzaman, 17, grabbed Abdul Latif's neck from behind while Muhammad Aizan Abdullah, 17, and Muhammad Istiqlal Hamdan, 16, each punched the cabby three times in the face.

3 teenagers arrested for robbing taxi driver at Japanese Gardens Road

Three teenagers, aged between 16 and 17, have been arrested for suspected involvement in a case of robbery from a taxi at Japanese Gardens Road.

At about 2am on Sunday morning, the taxi driver lodged a police report, claiming that he was assaulted and robbed.

Upon receiving the report, officers from Clementi Police Division managed to establish the identity and whereabouts of the suspects within 8 hours and made the arrest.

The suspects will be charged in court on Monday.

If convicted, they could be imprisoned for up to 20 years or be punished with a minimum of 12 strokes of the cane.
