Teenager to be charged with murder of widow Thursday

PETALING JAYA - One of the four suspects allegedly involved in the robbery that killed a widow will be charged with murder at the Kajang High Court Thursday.

The suspect, a 18-year-old school dropout, was arrested in Semenyih with two of his accomplice last Monday.

A source close to the investigation told The Star Wednesday that the other two suspects were still facilitating the investigations while the last, who is still at large, is now on the police's wanted list.

Last Monday, four men had set upon 46-year-old Cheong Chooi Mee when she was riding her motorcycle at around 12.30am.

She lost her balance when one of the assailants kicked her bike, throwing her to the ground in Taman Semenyih Mewah.

Cheong succumbed to her injuries at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital several hours after the incident.

Kajang deputy OCPD Supt Abdul Ghani Mohamad Ji said police had arrested three suspects on the same day of the incident in Semenyih to help with the investigations.

They are tracking down the fourth suspect.
