Teens arrested for stealing motorcycle

SINGAPORE - Two teenagers who allegedly stole a motorcycle at Choa Chu Kang grove have been arrested.

The suspects, aged 18 and 19, are believed to have stolen the motorcycle on April 21.

Police have arrested two male youths, aged 18 and 19, for their suspected involvement in a case of theft of motorcycle.

The stolen motorcycle was eventually found at Lompang Road, and the suspects were identified with the help of CCTV footage.

One of the suspects, a 19-year-old male, will be charged with theft of a motor vehicle on Wednesday.

If convicted, he faces a maximum jail term of seven years and may also be fined.

Investigations against the 18-year-old male suspect are ongoing.

Police said in a statement that motorcycle owners should be aware of the following crime prevention measures:

• Park your motor vehicle in well-lit areas;

• Remove the ignition key and lock the motor vehicle whenever it is left unattended, even if it is only for short moment;

• Use additional locking devices on your motorcycles, such as disc brake locks; and

• Install an anti-theft alarm.
