MOTORCYCLIST DIES AFTER KJE CRASH

A Malaysian motorcyclist died after his motorcycle got into a chain accident with two lorries and a van on the Kranji Expressway (KJE).

The accident happened on the KJE towards the Pan Island Expressway, near the Corporation Road exit just before 7am on Monday.

Witnesses told Chinese evening paper Shin Min Daily News that the motorcyclist was run over.

Police received a call about the accident at 6.54am that morning and said the motorcyclist, who was unconscious, was taken to the National University Hospita, where he was pronounced dead.

MOTORCYCLE SKIDS ON SIMS AVENUE

A 24-year-old motorcyclist was riding along Sims Avenue when he lost control of his motorbike, skidded and collided with a pedestrian.

The accident happened at about 5pm on Monday, reported Shin Min Daily News.

Police received a call at 5.19pm about the accident.

According to witnesses, the motorcyclist was lying on the ground after he fell off his motorbike, his head resting against the kerb. The overturned motorcycle was not far away.

Also seated by the roadside was the pedestrian, 23, who was being helped by passers-by.

Both were taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital for treatment.

BUS HITS MAN ON DEPOT ROAD

A 25-year-old Bangladeshi man was crossing Depot Road when he was knocked down by a bus.

The bus was travelling towards Henderson Road when the accident happened at 7pm on Monday, reported Shin Min.

The bus stopped immediately and the driver alighted to help, said witnesses.

By then, the pedestrian was unconscious.

There was a crack in the windscreen of the bus, believed to have been caused by the accident.

Police were called at around 7.10pm and the man, who was still unconscious, was taken to NUH
