Tickets to SG50 film 7 Letters fully claimed in a day

Tickets to the SG50 film 7 letters have been completely snapped up just over two hours since sales began online.

The film's seven directors made a unanimous decision to sell the tickets without a fixed price. Instead, each ticketholder will be invited to make a contribution of their own during the screenings with proceeds going towards specific causes within the community.

The tickets were made available on the movie's official website at noon on Wednesday.

7 Letters will be screened over three nights from July 24 to 26 and will be the first film to premiere at the iconic Capitol Theatre since its last cinema showing in 1998.

The film is a collection of Singapore stories by acclaimed homegrown directors such as Boo Junfeng, Eric Khoo, K Rajagopal, Jack Neo, Tan Pin Pin, Royston Tan and Kelvin Tong.

Three additional matinee screenings of the film will also be made available for select groups including the pioneer generation and senior citizens, the underprivileged, and students with the potential of becoming the next generation of homegrown filmmakers.
