Train molest suspect exposed on social media arrested at Hougang Mall

Police have arrested a man exposed on social media for a case of outrage of modesty on the MRT.

After a video circulating on social media showed the man touching the thigh of a girl sitting next to him on a train on Sunday (July 2), the man allegedly committed a similar act the next day.

Police managed to track him down and arrested the 44-year-old at Hougang Mall yesterday afternoon (July 5).

In the earlier incident, the man was filmed touching a girl's left thigh while he was seated next to her in a train ride along the East-West line. A passenger in the same carriage captured his act on her mobile phone and uploaded it on Facebook.

Thanks to a tip off from a member of the public, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division finally managed to nab him yesterday, said the police statement.
