Trio charged with stealing $875,000

A businessman, his wife and one of their friends allegedly worked together to misappropriate $875,133.56 in cash at the Marina Bay Sands casino.

Shaikh Farid, 39, and Shaikh Shabana Bi, 31 - both Indian nationals - are accused of committing the offence with Ho Man Yuk, 35, a businesswoman from China, between April 14 and April 19.

'DISHONEST'

They were each charged yesterday with one count of dishonestly misappropriating property.

Represented by lawyer Shashi Nathan, the trio's pre-trial conference will be held on Sept 16.

If convicted, they can each be jailed up to two years and fined.
