Truck tips over on West Coast Highway

A tipper truck toppled over at a slip road on West Coast Highway, going into Brani Gate 2 yesterday.

A witness who wanted to be known only as Mr Abu, 58, said he was on his way to work when he saw the large truck lying on its left side at around 10am.

Mr Abu, who works as a personal driver, said: "I was shocked as it looked quite serious. Thankfully, no other vehicles were involved."

When The New Paper arrived at the scene, the section of the road where the accident happened had been cordoned off.

The police said they received a call about the accident at 7.10am.

The 31-year-old truck driver was conscious and was taken to the Singapore General Hospital.

Investigations are ongoing.
