Two 15-year-olds arrested for snatching female victim's mobile phone

SINGAPORE - Police have arrested two 15-year-old male suspects for their involvement in a case of snatch theft at Woodlands Circle.

On Oct 18 at about 3.30pm, the two suspects approached a female victim who was playing with her mobile phone at the void deck of Blk 726 Woodlands Circle and snatched it away. They then both fled from the scene.

After investigations, officers from the Jurong Police Division managed to establish the identity of one of the suspects.

He was arrested in the vicinity of Woodlands Drive 60 on Dec 2 at about 6.30pm. His accomplice was arrested an hour later in the vicinity of Woodlands St 13.

The two suspects will be charged in Juvenile Court on Dec 4. If they are found guilty, they can be jailed for a term of up to 7 years or be liable for caning.
