Two 16-year-old boys arrested for stealing a wallet containing $50

SINGAPORE - Police have arrested two 16-year-old boys for their suspected involvement in a case of theft in dwelling at an educational institution in Choa Chu Kang.

On Feb 22, 2014, a 16-year-old student reported to the Police that his wallet containing $50 was missing from his locker.

Following the report, officers from Jurong Police Division conducted extensive ground enquiries and follow-up investigations.

Through CCTV footages retrieved from the location where the incident occurred, officers managed to establish the identities of the suspects who were also students of the institution.

On Feb 25, 2014 at 2pm, both boys were arrested at the institution.

Investigations against the suspects for the offence of Theft in Dwelling are ongoing.

If convicted, they may face an imprisonment for a term which may extend to 7 years and shall also be liable to fine.

Commander of Jurong Police Division, Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Police (DAC) Wilson Lim commended his officers for their prompt response and efforts leading to the arrest of the suspects. He would also like to caution members of public not to be complacent and be vigilant in safeguarding their properties to prevent them from being victims of crime.
