Two teenagers arrested for housebreaking and theft

SINGAPORE - Two men, aged 16 and 17, have been arrested by the police for their suspected involvement in a series of housebreaking and theft cases.

A series of reports were lodged within the span of a week in mid-July about missing cash and other valuables from apartments in the vicinity of Newton.

Police officers managed to establish the identity of the suspects apprehended them on July 31.

Foreign currency and stolen property worth about $1,000 were recovered from the suspects.

The two suspects will be charged in Court on Aug 1 for housebreaking and theft under Section 454 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, the subjects face a maximum imprisonment of 10 years.
