Vietnamese student drowns in condo pool

SINGAPORE - A Vietnamese student drowned on Sunday night at Amber Park condominium near Marine Parade.

The woman, in her 20s, was believed to have been at a pool party at the condominium at the time.

Yesterday, her friends and cousins went to the mortuary at Singapore General Hospital but did not claim the body.

The New Paper understands that the victim's family had yet to arrive in Singapore as of Monday afternoon.

Her friend and housemate identified her as Le Thu Huong, but declined to speak further.

Incident

A police spokesman said they received a call about the incident at 8.40pm and found the woman motionless at 14, Amber Gardens.

A spokesman for the Singapore Civil Defence Force said the woman was out of the pool when they arrived.

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation was performed on her en route to Changi General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The condominium management declined to comment on the incident.

The police are investigating the unnatural death.
